Day 2 - 台中市第二市场, 精明一街, 范特喜微创 & 逢甲夜市
The CityInn
hotel provides breakfast. The food was not bad. So, we began our itinerary
today. First, we went second market, 台中市第二市场. We walked a long walk, following the map and asking
the local people. It was a disappointment when we reached because most of the
shops are closed. Found out from a shop
owner that most of them rest on Mondays, if not most of the shops would be
opened by 10am. Oh well, so we walked around a while before moving on to our
next destination. Next, we went to Jingming (精明一街). We took a
bus from second market to jingming, I can’t remember what bus though.
It was also a
disappointment when we reached Jingming because most of the shops are still
closed. We reached around 10am so we
went to chill at the only café that was opened – EJ café. They provide magazines for the customers to read
and there’s free Wi-Fi as well. Slacked till 12 noon, first time the morning
felt so long. It was only around this timing that the shops start to open.
We proceed to Fantasy
story (范特喜微创) after that. Took a bus from second market and walk to fantasy story.
There are a lot of shops along the streets. So we just walk around, window
shopping. Some of the shops we wanted to go were closed as well.
Around evening time
we went to Mode mall, a shopping mall near our hotel. It’s just a normal
shopping mall, tried the mister donut there. It was not bad.
At night, we went
Fengjia night market (逢甲夜市). Took Bus 25 from Taichung railway station, which
goes straight to Fengjia. The journey was quite long. Maybe cause it was peak
hour, it took like 1hr plus. There are so many things to eat but always long
queue, especially those famous stall. One night is seriously not enough to walk
the whole of Fengjia night market, that’s just how big it is. Besides, there
are lots of shops near the night market as well. What I don’t understand is why
do people want to bring their dogs out to the night market? It is already so
crowded and some of the dogs are so small, if I’m not careful I might have
stepped on them accidentally. If you are
a dog lover, you will love to go Taiwan. Some even buy pram for their dogs.
